About Centurion

Centurion University is one of the state-private Universities in Odisha, having six constituent campuses across Odisha in the most difficult geographies. A second University promoted by the same edupreneurs is the Centurion University Andhra Pradesh located at Vijayanagaram, Andhra Pradesh. They are best known for their unique model of skill integrated higher education and their focus on academic excellence. The model emphasises industry-linked hands-on knowledge, experiential learning and practice-oriented pedagogy. The university undertakes interdisciplinary research and has consistently endeavoured to equip the students with the skills and mindset necessary to address the challenges of the modern world.

The University is different from other universities as it promotes entrepreneurship, builds entrepreneurs and establishes enterprises and is proud to have its own wood engineering lab, transformer manufacturing lab, apparel design and manufacturing lab, e-vehicle manufacturing lab, waste-to-wealth lab, heavy-duty pavers manufacturing unit, which operate as learning labs for students of ITI, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies. The University is also host to over 50 industry sponsored labs. The University has promoted several Enterprises with the brand name Gram Tarang, which include the Gram Tarang Employability Training Services (GTET), Gram Tarang Inclusive Development Services (GTIDS), Gram Tarang Foods (GTFs), Gram Tarang Technologies (GTTech), Gram Tarang Vocational Education and Training Services (GTVET) and the Urban Micro Business Center (UMBC). It has recently established its own drone RPTO and insurance brokerage firms. These are some of the examples of in-house manufacturing, training and learning labs through which the university empowers the students and faculties to become entrepreneurs.

In terms of research, the university has 24 research centres on niche areas such as computational mathematics, ed-tech, medical diagnostics, aquaculture and fish processing technology, phytopharma, genetics and genomics and centre for drones amongst others. The university encourages the faculty by giving in-house grants through these research centres whereby the faculties and students engage in cutting-edge research work and the same is published in internationally reputed and peer-reviewed journals across the globe.

The university in its endeavours towards academic excellence provides domain as well as skill courses through its 16 Schools. The university offers 50+ domain courses and 150+ skill courses which provide hands-on training to the students and make them market ready with a sectoral focus and extensive industry integration. The academics have forged engagements with several national and multinational brands in sectors mainly from automotive, manufacturing and energy, agriculture, hospitality, and healthcare etc. Industry collaborations have been established with Ashok Leyland, Yamaha, Godrej, HAL, Schneider Electric, Dassault Systems, Manipal Hospitals to name a few.

Further, the university is proud to join hands with National Skill Development Corporation, National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), Prime Ministers Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Odisha Livelihood Mission (OLM) and other government schemes for placement linked skill training for rural poor. The university also has collaborations with NCVET and provides education for all including school dropouts, ITI Diploma, differently abled and socially excluded, besides training trainers through its Institute of Training of Trainers (ITOT). The university is built upon the model of collaboration between industry, academia, government, and social entrepreneurship. Our presence is there in nine states through its social enterprises and is one of the upcoming promising universities in India which stands on a different model and believes in building and moulding students to be industry-ready and have a bright future.
